Privacy policy

PitchDreams is a small, independent project built by a soccer family. This policy covers pitchdreams.com and the four sites that sit under it: Youth Soccer Costs (costs.pitchdreams.com), Film Room (filmroom.pitchdreams.com), Pro Parent Soccer League (play.pitchdreams.com) and Coaching Dynasty Sim (sim.pitchdreams.com). It says what each one keeps and why. We do not sell or share what we keep, and none of the sites carries advertising.
1. What every site counts
Each site keeps a simple count of how it is used, so we can tell which pages help. Each event records:
- which site and page it happened on (the address without anything after a ?), and what happened — a page opened, a button pressed, a step finished — with a few fixed details, such as which option was chosen;
- a random visitor id and a session id, from the two cookies described below;
- your approximate location — country, state or region, and city — which our host works out from your IP address;
- your type of device, operating system and browser, the name of the site that sent you, and any campaign tag in the link you followed;
- when a page breaks, the error message, cut to 200 characters, at most five times per page.
A few browser signals — whether the browser is automated, its screen size, how many languages it lists — are checked on each event to tell people from bots, then thrown away.
We do not store your IP address. It is used in memory to limit how fast one address can send events and, as a one-way hash, to recognise the network of the people who run PitchDreams, so our own visits are not counted as readers. Neither the address nor the hash is written down.
Events never contain your name, your email, your child's name, your film or anything you type. Where a game's text includes a name you typed, the name is replaced with a placeholder before anything leaves your browser. Counting data is deleted automatically after 15 months.
2. Cookies and browser storage
pd_aid: a random visitor id, kept 13 months and shared across pitchdreams.com and its sites, so a returning visitor is not counted as new.pd_sid: a session id that starts over after 30 minutes without activity.pd_self: marks the browser of someone who runs PitchDreams, so their visits are not counted as readers. It is set only on the cost site's admin pages or by a special link.- Youth Soccer Costs also keeps a 13-month cookie that remembers if you supported the site, and sign-in cookies that only its operator ever receives.
Your browser's own storage holds the referring site and campaign tags for the current visit, and on each site the things that belong on your device: saved comparisons on Youth Soccer Costs, your film work in Film Room, your saves and settings in the games. That stays on your device unless this policy says otherwise below.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, no PitchDreams site counts you: no event is sent and no visitor cookie is set. Clearing your cookies resets the visitor id, and you are then counted as new.
3. Site by site
pitchdreams.com
No forms and no accounts. The club search sends what you type to the Youth Soccer Costs search page; our counting records only that a search was started, never its words.
Youth Soccer Costs
The research site has forms: fee reports, fee alerts, requests to research a club we don't list yet, notes to us, club claims and the coaching questions. Your email is kept only when you give it, used only for what you gave it for, never published or shown to a club, and kept until you ask us to delete it. Forms keep a hash of your network address under a key that changes daily and is erased within two days, to stop one person flooding them. The coaching questions never store your email. Email goes out through Resend; a payment to support the site happens on Stripe's own page, where we see nothing about your card. Only the person who runs the site can sign in. Its own privacy page covers each form in full, and how its data is backed up and deleted.
Film Room (beta)
Your film, every frame of it, your drawings, clips, notes, voice-overs and the player card you fill in — which can include a photo, grad year, GPA and a contact — stay on your device: in your browser's storage and, if you choose one, a Games folder on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account. Reels, backups, the player page and the coach email you make are saved to your device and go only where you send them; they can carry your child's details, so share them with care.
Film Room counts which of its features get used, from a short fixed list, and only when it is opened from the web. Those counts pass through Film Room's own address on their way to the counting described above, and your IP address is not stored there either. You can switch counting off in Help, and Film Room counts nothing when it is opened from a file on your computer.
Pro Parent Soccer League
No account. Your saves and settings stay in your browser, including the names you type for your game family; clearing your browser's data for the site deletes them. In usage counts those names are replaced with placeholders. Until October 2, 2026 the game also copied each save to our database; it no longer does, and those copies have been deleted.
Coaching Dynasty Sim
No account. Saves stay in your browser, including the club and coach names you type, and are deleted with your browser's data for the site. Usage counts never include them.
4. Who handles data for us
Vercel hosts every site. Supabase holds the database, including the usage counts. Youth Soccer Costs also uses Resend for email and Stripe for support payments; it reads clubs' websites with Anthropic's Claude and a hosted browser, Browserless, neither of which receives anything about you except the name and town of a club you ask us to research; and it places clubs' towns with OpenStreetMap. The two games load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives that request, with your IP address and browser, under its own policy. Each provider works under its own privacy terms. No advertising networks, no third-party analytics, no trackers.
5. Children
The sites are for parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. Film Room and the games can hold a child's name and details that a parent types, and those stay on the parent's device. The Youth Soccer Costs page written for players records no visit and sets no cookie. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
6. Your choices
Write to support@pitchdreams.com to see what we hold about you or to have it deleted. Counting data carries a random id rather than a name, so we cannot find yours from an email address; clearing your cookies starts a new id, and Global Privacy Control stops the counting. Copies of the Youth Soccer Costs database kept as backups expire within 30 days.
7. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
